I have an account with a number of experienced players, would it be possible for me to buy a second copy of Guild Wars and have one of my characters transferred to the new account?

Many thanks,
Lord Skiddimus.

Impossible. Many people have asked for such a feature, but just imagine someone getting their account hacked and not only was all their money taken but they actually stole their characters as well. Plus then we'd see pre lvl / unlocked characters for sale ingame and ebay.

That's a real shame, I'm quite suprised - would have meant additional sales for Anet...

Thanks anyway.

Seems to be quite a bit of threads that belong in the Q and A forums these days...... It's a good question tho. I think there's a post about running 2 copies of Guild Wars on one puter tho somewhere, that might do you some good.

The problem with that is that you still can't run two instances of the same account, which is what I think OP was going for.

Nope, not trying to run 2 copies at the same time. I simply want to port a character from one account to a new account so both characters can be played at the same time and not have to share a single storage account. The accounts\instances will be run on different PCs.

They couldn't do this due to unlocks. Say you transfer a w/r with all warrior and ranger skills unlocked to a brand new account. Obviously they couldn't let the new account get all those skills unlocked for free. So there would only be two options, either remove all skills from that character or allow that character to have all those skills, but not unlock them for the account. The first option obviously won't work because you would basically have a brand new character, so why not just make it from scratch. The second would kind of work, but that character would not be able to unlock any warrior or ranger skills for the account, which would be rather frustrating to most. Add to that the problems already mentioned and a whole host of others and we see that this just wouldn't be a good idea.
